The Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital has joined hands with Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospital in London and the Imperial College London to form the Institute of Cardiovascular Medicine and Science (ICMS). The creates the largest cardiovascular unit in Europe, and opens up exciting opportunities for collaborative working and research.

The ICMS was formally launched at a glittering ceremony at the Liverpool Town Hall on 22 September 2011.
